¿Cómo continuar con el diálogo entre Diseño 2D y Diseño 3D? 

 

Estos estudios de luces empezaron viviendo en el reino 2D digital, en Illustrator. Después fueron pasados a un objeto 3D, con la ayuda de una cortadora láser. La selección de colores en el acrílico (azul, morado, rojo/naranja y transparente) me permitió ver qué tanto se influenciaban por la luz y cómo interactuaban entre sí. Al fotografiarlas y traerlas de vuelta al mundo 2D, empecé a pensar en maneras de continuar este diálogo. Una opción es usar estos estudios de luces como patrones en textiles. El siguiente paso sería cuando la tela, a través de bocetos, fotografía y experimentación, se convierte en una pieza de ropa... y así eternamente, como un fractal.

 

How to further the dialogue between 2D Design and 3D Design? 

 

These light studies started living in the 2D digital realm, in Illustrator. They were then translated to a 3D object with the help of a laser-cutter. The selection of colors in the acrylic (blue, purple, clear and red/orange) allowed me to see how influenced were they by light and how they interacted with each other. As I photographed them and brought them back to a 2D plane, I started thinking of ways to keep the dialogue going. One option was using these light studies as fabric patterns. The next collaboration of 2D+3D could happen that way, where fabric, through sketching, photography and experimentation, becomes a piece of clothing... and so on.
